I had an entire entry up and hit one key - I don't even know what the hell I hit - and I lost it.

Must walk away now or something will be broken.

I'll be back on Tuesday with thougts on climbing Mt Hood in the winter, a fascinating woman scientist and books I read and loved this year. Also a bit on Bradbury.

Now I will practice zen breathing and finding inner peace.

Happy Holidays.......it might be politically correct, but it's true!

Colleen,

I feel your pain. Not that this helps now but composing anything longer than a sentence or two in Textedit (or whatever), saving in an "articles" collection folder, and copy and pasting into Movable Type saves many a headache.

Yes, but the trouble is that the main charm of blogging is its instantness--it is true I lost way too many posts on Blogger before starting the habit of copying the whole text just before I posted (I've given up again now that I'm finding Blogger Beta so reliable, unless I've done something with a million links that I know I will be too impatient to reproduce)--but I find it takes all the pleasure out of the practice to write posts in a separate editor.

In any case, Colleen, my sincere condolences!

When I am honest with myself, I know I could have just saved the post as unpublished at the halfway point or so and thus only lost part of it - but I don't want to be honest with myself.

I want to flip out and scream!! Ha!

I'll just write it all better for next week, I know, but at the time (which was like 1AM) I was a very angry person. Computers seem like magic sometimes - why can't they act like magic - good magic! ha!

Hey there Colleen. It's your stepsister writing under the name I usually use, and writing on your stepdad's computer. You might be hearing from him (but it is unlikely, knowing his computer literacy rate!). I did download IMs for MSN and Yahoo to his desktop but I haven't to your mother's...y'all talk often enough that you probably don't need it. ha ha

Thanks for the card. I didn't send out ANY this year. Happy Christmas to you and yours (I hear the little one really couldn't care less about the holiday...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!).
