I have read a lot about Joan of Arc. She heard the word of God and led an army and was sacrificed by men who feared her religious convictions and power; they feared that she might very well have been the grace of the Lord on earth. They feared that she would see them all dead when their own greed was exposed.
Hillary Clinton is an able politician but please, she is no Joan of Arc:
I didn't know it would feel this bad. I didn't know it would feel this personal. I'm all for a united Democratic party. But losing my last chance to see a woman in the White House feels like shit. And the gloating by the press is even worse. It sounds like "I told you so." It feels like watching Joan of Arc burned at the stake. You can smell the burning flesh. And then all the crowing about breaking the race barrier -- which we haven't done yet. - Erica Jong
And more than one barrier has been broken this election year already - only a fool would not see that. (An African American candidate goes the distance, a female candidate goes the distance - a Mormon candidate is a serious contender, a Hispanic American candidate is a serious contender - can't we see how impressive this has been?!)

I felt this morning like I fell off the teeter-totter and the wind was knocked out, like when I missed the bottom step carrying my little brother and fell...hard. I'll admit it - I'm hoping for an O'Bama/Clinton ticket. I've said that outloud to a couple of colleagues and met with derision...Hilary won my heart...
