It's a great story, but it's severely undercut by the guy's inauthentic narration, which sounds like he's desperately trying to mimic Ira Glass. Here is a tale predicated on authenticity and sharing, and yet, with one simple artificial variable, it becomes without authenticity, very much a selfish endeavor.

I do have to wonder if something has happened career-wise for him since this thing started - and thus made him come across like you say. (In other words is he looking at a book/movie deal or something.) I also thought it was weird that his girlfriend is not in it at all. Granted, she must be holding the camera but still, if he hadn't told us at the beginning that she went with him I would have thought he was alone.

Ironic, isn't it - starts out as the most authentic thing in the world and becomes sort of a made for internet moment!

Still, it is awesome how he met all those people just through some lost film.
